Darkness falls across the land,
The running hour is close at hand,
Creatures crawl in search of blood,
To terrorize your neighbourhood.
Yep, it was the first anniversary of Sheringham Parkrun last Saturday!
With the season of Halloween upon us a fancy dress theme was chosen and plenty of people took to the regular circuit in their grizzly attire. This race is arranged every Saturday morning over a Sheringham Park (a National Trust location). Chris and Karl do a fantastic job of coordinating it all, along with a team of volunteers, and they do it all for….FREE!
The thing that struck me most, other than the fact that everyone attending had such a great time, is that everyone is so supportive of each other. All ages run this 3 mile course, and every single one of them seems to have a ball. It was a great vibe there, and with cakes aplenty being served up afterwards, I wanted to stick around as anyone who knows me will know I have a sweet tooth! I loved covering this and would happily cover it again.
Happy First Anniversary Parkrun!
