The big had come, but there was no stressing at this gig! These guys were so chilled on their pre-wed shoot that I knew their Wedding would follow suit, but most of all it was going to be an excellent affair!
The pre-wed session was at Blickling Hall on a cool damp day, so with awesome weather for their wedding it was such a relief.
I arrived at Weston Park to catch some of Anna’s preparation, the champagne was flowing well and all was good. Anna’s friend, mum and nan were all in there and it was a real happy and mellow mood. Once I’d taken a few shots of Ann’s dress, shoes and accessories I went looking for Tim. I have to say Tim did look a little pre-occupied but overall he was in really good spirits. We had a few shots of Tim with this future Father-in-law and his best man and then I had to head back to Anna’s prep room for some final shots.
The ceremony started so I moved into position next to the registrar. Tim looked very composed as did Anna when she came down the aisle, but when it came to exchanging their vows Anna’s emotions started to flow as little. She had a little lump in her throat, but quickly got through it. This is actually the first time I’ve seen a bride get emotional at the ceremony, they’re usually very well composed and realise the gravity of the day well in advance, so maybe that better prepares them for the big day itself. Whereas us guys, well, hey we’re guys right? Hey we’ll be ok….only to blub at the crucial point. Yup, you heard right! I’ve lost count of the amount of times guys have blubbed at the altar, really. But I’m not going to mention anyone here…you know who you are 🙂
After the ceremony we took a few shots in the grounds of Weston Park which has some amazing countryside bordering it.
Before long it was time for the reception meal, so we headed into the panelled room – beautiful. If you’re considering Weston Park as your wedding venue, and you have around 40-50 guests, then this room is lovely. Intimate and cosy, just what you want…and of course a short walk to the bar…bonus! They do put up a marquee if you have more guests, and that works out well as it leads straight onto a large paved area with seating overlooking the golf course.
The wedding co-ordinator at Weston Park is Anna Norman, she is lovely, really puts you at ease and very friendly. Anyway, enjoy!
